Description

Mammillaria senilis is a special cactus species, recognizable by its dense, white hairs that give it a woolly appearance. These “hairs” protect the plant from intense sun and cold in its natural habitat (Mexico).
When mature, it can produce beautiful pink to purplish-red flowers at the top of the plant.

Because Mammillaria senilis grows slowly and is sometimes sensitive on its own roots, it is often grafted onto Myrtillocactus. The rootstock (Myrtillocactus) is vigorous and ensures:

  • faster growth

  • better resistance

  • easier maintenance

The result is a decorative, strong cactus with a striking contrast between the woolly top and the blue-green rootstock.
